Thwart Offenders With A Home Security System

It’s frightening for a 68-year-old-woman to think she has to protect herself against a sex offender, but that’s exactly what happened to an elderly victim in West Palm Beach. Luckily the woman had her son staying with her at the time of the incident because she did not have a home security system in place to warn her or the authorities of the danger.

Home Security, Home Improvement A registered sex offender with a long list of arrests spanning more than a decade broke into the Lake Worth home and tried to attack the homeowner while she was sleeping. The intruder had been charged multiple times with violent criminal break-ins and sexual assaults.

The woman’s adult son was sleeping in another room but awoke when he heard the ruckus. He immediately went to the aid of his mother by choking and forcefully apprehending the assailant. He stopped the man from doing any serious physical harm to his mother, but it was upsetting to say the least.

There was already a warrant out for the attacker when he tried to enter the woman’s home without invitation. Needless to say there was no bond granted for the criminal when he appeared in court the next day, a little bruised from the intervention of the victim’s son.

This is another example of unsuspecting community members that have no idea anything like this could happen in their neighborhood. A home security system can no longer be considered a luxury. The need for security applies to everyone. Even the elderly need to be protected against sexual assault.
