The rug industry is flooded with many different kinds of area rugs. Different rugs cater to different market segments. Today the rugs are highly customized and specialized in their approach. The crux question is what we are looking for- a low-end rug or a highly intricate, high-end, hand knotted rug?
Even with the budget tie-ups, there are many choices to boot home. Machine woven rugs smartly cater to small to mid segment needs. The modern machinery is well versed in the art of creating intricate fibers at reasonable price structure. Rugs in such range can be contemporary, nautical, floral or even conventional. Most of the rugs are made of Polypropylene.
For the hand knotted rugs, the three qualities which are quintessential are:
· Quality of wool which is imperative in tackling high traffic
· Number of knots per square inch
· Efficiency of the chemical wash prior to finishing
