Choosing a plot according to Vastushastra – Do’s and Dont’s
Filed Under Designs, Feng Shui & Vaastu, Home Decor | Leave a Comment
Vastushaastra marries the concept of oriental astrology with cosmic distribution of energy. This means that each human being has a different need and it’s important to understand the planetary associations to get the best out of it.
Do’s
One should organize space according to his prime cardinal. It can be wind, water, earth, fire or sky. He must have his chief element in the integral position of home.
You should look to keep the door facing in the direction if your parent planet. For instance, Mars rules north and Venus rules east so a person having mars in the ascendant should have a north facing door and person with Venus should have east facing door,
Fire place and water tank must be put in accordance with prime latitude and after careful chart reading.
Don’ts
Do not build sharp pointed structures. They take away positive energy.
Do not clutter the garden with garbage or old worn-out things.

Feng Shui or Vaastu, mirrors have become positive symbols. A wide variety of choices exist and they enhance the entire look and feel of the house. Colored mirrors, designer mirrors, Venetian mirrors etc are all a part of interior designing.
Starting with the main entrance, mirrors are seen all around the household. A lighted mirror at the entrance looks beautiful and impressive. It speaks of the taste and substitutes the usual artifacts. A huge mirror reflecting a painting or the entire drawing room enhances the size of the room. It also touches the traditional deco.
The designer and branded mirrors might be on the luxurious end but when one thinks of redesigning the house, the right technique of design can be pretty inexpensive. While making plush bathrooms, mirror plays the most important role. Children usually have paintings of Tom & Jerry, while an adult chooses well-finished mirrors.
Mirrors can be big, small or shaped but they definitely are very effective, some with full reflection and the others with distorted reflection. Mirrors do add a lot to the space, be it the office or your home.

Feng Shui guards against any worn out or broken object at home; it either recommends repair or simply proposes to throw the object away.
It asks to cut off drafts as they pile on ill-health. It suggests against using sharp-pointed objects and stands against using overhead light.
For the garden, Feng Shui suggests that gardens, like homes, must be cleared of excess dried leaves, weeds, and frost handicapped pots. All the waste materials thrown into the garden must also be removed. Gardens must be viewed as an extension of home
